I. Scope of Information Collected

Before Logging In

When using the Altera.co website without logging in, technical data related to your browser, device, and session are collected. This includes, among others:

  • cookie identifiers,
  • data on page views and time spent on the site,
  • device type and operating system,
  • data on interactions with website elements.

This information is used to analyze the website’s performance and improve its functionality.

After Logging In

After logging into the Altera system, we process personal data associated with the user account, such as:

  • email address and phone number,
  • company name and registration details (e.g., tax ID, address),
  • data related to documents (e.g., invoices, payments, project assignments, categories of individual documents),
  • data regarding subscriptions and account settings.

This data is necessary for providing services and enables the use of the platform’s features.

II. Purposes of Information Processing

We process your data in order to:

  • provide and develop the platform’s features;
  • analyze the use of the website and application;
  • inform you about important changes and announcements;
  • tailor our activities to your needs; carry out marketing and statistical activities.
  • conduct marketing and statistical activities.

III. Legal Bases for Processing Activities

Personal data is processed in accordance with the provisions of the European Parliament and Council Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of April 27, 2016 (GDPR), in particular based on:

  • art. 6 ust. 1 lit. b RODO – when processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party (e.g., providing services through an Altera account);
  • art. 6 ust. 1 lit. c RODO – when processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation of the controller (e.g., tax or accounting obligations);
  • art. 6 ust. 1 lit. f RODO – when processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the controller (e.g., service operation analysis, ensuring system security);
  • art. 6 ust. 1 lit. a RODO – based on voluntarily given consent (e.g., consent for cookies, marketing consent).

In the case of data processing through cookies and tracking technologies, we also comply with the provisions of the Act of July 16, 2004, Telecommunications Law (Journal of Laws 2022, item 1648, as amended), particularly Article 173.

IV. Who may process your data?

Data may be shared with technology partners (e.g., hosting providers, analytics services, or providers supporting access to AISP data) as well as with government authorities based on legal provisions.

If data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we ensure that it is only sent to entities that comply with GDPR requirements and guarantee an adequate level of protection.

V. Data Retention Period

The data retention period depends on the type of information and the purpose of its processing. Technical data (e.g., cookies) are stored according to browser settings, while user data is retained for the duration of service use and as required by law.

VI. Your Data Protection Rights

You have the right to:access your data;rectify, transfer, or delete it;restrict or object to its processing;file a complaint with the supervisory authority.

VII. Voluntariness of Providing Data and Access to Services

Providing data for the use of Altera services is voluntary; however, if certain information (e.g., company identification data, contact details, data necessary for document processing) is missing, service provision will not be possible, as these data are essential for contract performance and compliance with legal obligations.

Regardless, you have full control over the data collected before logging in, such as through cookies. You can change your web browser settings to limit or block the storage of cookies on your device. Disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the service but will not prevent you from browsing it.

VIII. Automated Data Analysis

User data may be analyzed automatically to better tailor content and system features to individual needs and improve service. This may include creating user profiles based on the types of processed documents, system activity, or preference settings.

Such activities assist in platform development, message personalization, and anticipating potential customer needs. At the same time, we do not make decisions that would have legal effects or similarly significant impacts on you solely based on automated data processing, including profiling.

You can object to the processing of your data for this purpose at any time by contacting us as indicated in the final section of this document.

IX. Information About Cookies

In accordance with Article 173(1) of the Act of July 16, 2004 – Telecommunications Law (Journal of Laws 2004, No. 171, item 1800, as amended), we inform you that Altera websites use cookies, including so-called third-party cookies.

Cookies are small text files stored on the user’s end device (e.g., computer, smartphone) while using the service. They are not used to identify or establish the identity of users, nor do they affect the configuration or operation of the user’s device.

Cookies are primarily used to create statistics showing how users interact with the website — which helps us improve its content and functionality — and to analyze traffic sources — allowing us to assess the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and optimize marketing activities.

Some cookies may be placed on the user’s device by partners collaborating with Altera — including providers of analytics or advertising services.

When visiting the Altera portal, the User decides whether to enable cookie functionalities by selecting the appropriate option in the cookie consent banner.

In correspondence, please specify your inquiry, request, or demand as precisely as possible to facilitate prompt handling. You may also request the exercise of your rights described in this Privacy Policy, such as access to data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, or data portability.

If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates GDPR regulations, you also have the right to file a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (PUODO) or another competent supervisory authority.
